I started surfing in the spring of 1993 when I was twelve years old. I kept at it for the next two springs / summers, but at
age 15 dropped it for a career in skateboarding. When those years had come to a close, I became physically complacent.
If it wasn't for my surfboard staring at me from the corner of my room, reminding me of the challenge and bliss the ocean
offered, I'd probably be a big fat shit right now. In 2004 I answered that call and have just completed my first winter of
surfing at my beloved Rockaway Beach. Yes, like the Ramones song. The water there is 38 degrees. On my worst days
I've changed out of my wetsuit into dry clothes right on the boardwalk, battling a 5 degree windchill. I take three buses
from my house to get there except on rare occasions where Mike drives me to take shots.
Right before getting into music, I studied the physics of surfboard design and am currently waiting on
three custom
boards that I co-designed with RUSTY. I always wanted a Rusty board, so you can imagine what a thrill this will be. Surfing
is my only therapy. I'm not sponsored, I'm not trying to get sponsored. This is ME time, and I love it. I surf  to truly escape
the world. I did however wind up on the front page and inside cover of the Metro Section of the New York Times, and NY
1 News for doing it. What can I tell you? Here is a song I wrote with Mike, paying homage to this fine pasttime:
